I love the 4th piano concerto. It is my favorite of his! That second movement, such interesting music, especially for the time. Yet another revolution from the great master.

I also agree about this amazing work. I'm wondering how it sounds? The Max Bruch symphonies I have, conducted by Masur, are not very spectacularly.

            Couldn't wait till sunday...

            Anselm Hüttenbrenner: Requiem c-moll (1825)

A live recording from 2002, Dreieinigkeitskirche Ludwigsburg. Not the very best recording, but the music...

This work was very popular at it's time and was played at the death masses for Salieri, Beethoven, Schubert and Emperor Franz I.

It's absolutely beautyful, I love it!!!

That sounds interesting Pastorali, I wouldn't mind hearing the piece myself.

At the moment I am listening to a
                Franz Schubert song:
                'An die Musik' a beautiful
melancholy song, sung by Felicity Lott.
It seems such a pity that his songs are so short.

I can not remember to an other piece of music (except works of Beethoven, wich I learned to know) that has impressed me so much!!

Hüttenbrenner wrote a lot of music, but his works are almost forgotten and just very less played. So far I know, this is the only recording wich is buyable. But many of his partitures are still collected in Graz and some people are trying to make it more public. How I told you, is coming out this year a piano work "22 scenes of ghosts", also called "Fantasies".

Waiting will be hard for that...

If anybody is also interested about: to get information, or order a cd (15 Euro) is possible here:

                  Lorber-Verlag, Hindenburgstrasse 5, D-74321 Bietigheim-Bissingen, info@lorber-verlag.de

If some are doing, please let me know your meaning about... thanks

Wish you all a nice weekend!

For me it is the 'Morning' symphony no.6 from Joseph Haydn.
                        Lovely!

                          Pastorali,
No disappoinment today. A lovely Sunday after many days of rain, and it is the Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Leonard Bernstein! Many seem to dislike Bernstein, but I feel as though his passion is perfect for this music. Have a splendid day, as I hope to do after such a good start!

                            A truly amazing undertaking.
