    Fire!

This just in on the Classical radio news.

"A Russian Collection of rare sheet music was badly damaged by fire last Thursday as firefighters fought a blaze in the historic St. Petersburg Library that houses it. The collection contains rare editions of Beethoven sonatas and etudes by Carl Czerny. The collection survived an earlier dousing in 2001 when the former dutch church was flooded by a burst water pipe. There is no word on the extent of the damage or how much has been salvaged by rescuers."
