beethoven
As a singer his work is relatively strange to me however his opera fidelio is one both of great depth and feeling. Subsequently on listening to other music by beethoven i hear the same passion that i heard in the opera and that is what makes his muisc so attractive.

I'm delighted to hear that you are interested in Beethoven's songs.They are very beautiful and often neglected by performers.My favorites are Adelaide,An die Geliebte,Flohlied,(from Goethe's Faust),Der Kuss and just too many more to name.The piano accompaniments are absolutely gorgeous,well of course it is Beethoven!
I love all the folksong settings and have learned quite a few of the ones in English,my German would be too dreadful to sing any of the serious songs. Are you a tenor?
