anyone know why Beethoven wrote "Adieu to the piano,(piano solo), is any story behind this music ?????
could you tell us the story about 'Adieu to the piano"
thankS!
I know little of this piece. Its title, 'Adieu au piano', would most surely stem from a publisher. And the piece can not be taken to be one of LvB's with any certainty at all. I think it's identic to a Waltz in F, called 'Glaube, Liebe und Hoffnung' (Appendix 15 in Kinsky-Halm), of which neither date nor composer is fixed.

This has been covered in a previous thread. I have a couple of copies of this under the title, "Farewell to the Piano" and "Adieu to the piano". As far as I know it is not a work of Beethoven's but of some unknown composer. Regardless, it is a charming little piece.
