    finger problem

when i stretch finger 3 away from 4 on my left hand i get a tingly sensation which runs all the way to my shoulder. no swelling is present. recently i had been doing stretch runs on guitar which work that area. im wondering, what i should do?
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing. -- Act V, Scene V, Macbeth.

Maybe you just strained something. I'd suggest giving it rest for now, but if it doesn't get better soon or starts to get worse, see a doctor.

      BW,

Be very careful! Like Chris said, take it easy on that finger for a while. Then, when you are playing again, learn to stretch your tendons around your hands and do it religiously. I have known several pianists who have had surgery for carpal tunnel and been out of commission for months due to tendonitus. I believe this is all avoidable with proper stretching.
You'll never see a dancer do anything with stretching first.

I had the same – but of work at the computer. In kind of making always the same moves with the fingers, it's maybe similar. Yes, be very careful, don't let it come cronically!
