Besides my orchestrations of op.111 and op. 133 this is probably my favourite of all my orchestrations: yesterday (the day when I became grandpa :-) I finished the orchestration of the awesome c#-minor quartett op. 131 by Beethoven: https://youtu.be/Dg4_XCySWp0 This gave me truly a whole new appreciation of this masterwork!!

Very well done, Gerd, I really enjoyed it! Orchestrating string quartets must be a unique challenge, since you are already starting with complete string parts. Do you find yourself constantly looking for ways to avoid just having those parts exactly as they are in the original work, or does finding different ways to present the material come easily to you?
Also, congratulations on becoming a grandfather!

And now I also started to orchestrate op. 127 - and I am astonished how well this works! What does this quartet mean to you so far? Isn't it somewhat standing under the shadow of the other late quartets? --> https://www.gerdprengel.de/op127-1_orch.mp3
