Great Fugue op. 133 - for Orchestra

For years I was dreaming of orchestrating the Great Fuge, but I was doubting that this was even possible - now I did it and I am just amazed - wildest power combined with greatest tenderness... What do you think?

It has helped me to see that this work in a sense is a symphony of its own with the movements Allegro - Meno Mosso - Scherzo - Finale ...

Great work, Gerd! This is one of my very favorite pieces of music. I heard this played by an orchestra at a concert once (along with Mozart's Jupiter symphony, I think), but it was only the strings. The brass and especially the timpani in your orchestration really give it some extra punch at just the right moments.
