Piano Trio op 70,2 for Orchestra

I just finished the orchestration of the marvellous 1st movement so we have now 2 symphonic movements of this glorious Trio:

Excellent work Gerd - how long does it usually take you to complete a movement and have you found the process comes more naturally with experience?

Hi, Peter, the time to orchestrate a chamber music piece depends on the type of piece. It is very easy to orchestrate a string quartet: I import a score from https://musescore.com/ into my notation software tool, usually first into the strings section and from there I copy or move the notes to wooodwinds or french horms, adding furthermore also trumpets and timpani notes. This would take me maybe 6 hours..
But orchestrating a piano trio with many full piano accords like this 1st mov of op 70,2 . is much more difficult. It took me maybe 25 hours!

Now I finished also the beautiful 3rd movement - one of the most melodious movements of Beethoven. But I am not sure about the eights notes accompaniement - they are often more staccato-like eventhough Beethoven writes with legato. Do you think it is good so?

I think they'd be better legato, is there no way of doing that?

You are right, Peter, I changed now the accompaniement with more legato.

Yes that 3rd movt is much improved and the finale - wow! It works incredibly well in your arrangement for orchestra and the other wild finale that comes to mind is the 4th symphony.
