    Rewriting Vivaldi's 4 Seasons

We all love and sometimes hate the Vivaldi 4 Seasons, don't we? One of those masterworks that is so overplayed and exploited commercially that we come to despise it...

Well, maybe here's a solution to help us reconnect with the red-haired, blind Venetian:

Remember that The Guardian does not operate a paywall, so click on the right replies and you'll get to the article.

In the meantime, here are a couple of videos from the article:

Are you sure Vivaldi was blind? I have searched the Internet and couldn't find any reference.

I' like Vivaldi Four Seasons and have heard better versions.
I've not read anywhere about Vivaldi going blind, I'm sure it was J.S. Bach and Handel who went blind.

About better versions, do you mean you have heard better "recomposed" versions of Vivaldi's 4S?

This is my most favourite unmatched traditional interpretation. Not recomposed.

              I see.
The idea behind this thread was to talk about a living composer (Max Richter) who has "reimagined" the V4S in an attempt to offer a fresh take on a concert war horse.
If you read the article you will see that Richter already did this in 2012. He has attempted it again, this time with a HIP ensemble, the irony even going so far as to integrate a "HIP" Moog synthesiser from the 1970s.

                The best synthesizers ever made!
