    Thanks for the info. This name is familiar to me recently. Have you mentioned him or maybe he was featured in one of the episodes of Bill McLoughlon's Exploring Music.

      I've mentioned him a couple of the times in the past. Peter said some years ago that Birtwistle would never gather 20,000 mourners at his funeral as a certain other composer did! Not many Birtwistle fans here either if I recall but each to their own.

        Good memory - I suspect however I'll be proved correct. No I can't say his music appeals to me but as you say each to their own!

          I will have to check his music out when I get some time. Any recommendations for starters?
