This from the Vienna Synchron Stage from sampling of their Hamburg Steinway D, 'auditioned' by Stefan Mendl from the Vienna Piano Trio. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN and where is this going? Cannot help the feeling of irony from Vienna, home of Beethoven - who always wanted improved pianos!! (Gotta love the Viennese!!!)

If there is one symbol of western European cultural hegemony, symbolic of its classical music infrastructure, it is surely these staggeringly beautiful grand pianos, two of these in this audition in Asian hands; one made in Japan the other made in Europe but now owned by China.
