a beautiful Menuetto sketch from 1801

I fell so much in love with the precious Menuetto melody sketch from 1801 which is presented in the UnheardBeethoven website. Right away I felt compelled to write my version for a string quartet and then also an orchestra version. In the Trio I added a beautiful melody as a countersubject to the thrilling triols .

Great fun Gerd! From the trio section it sounds to me as though it was intended as a movement for a string quartet rather than a set of dances?

Probably you are, right, but I find it terrific to get these triols played by a the bassoon and then with the new melody above (which may not be so beethoven-like , rather Tchaikowsky :-) , but I love it :-)
