    What classification does this word refer to ?Is it used only for classifying Beethoven works?

    WoO means Werk ohne Opuuszahl:work without opus number.A system of catalog numbers for identifying works by Beethoven that do not have opus numbers.

      The specific term with a well-known number associated is indeed used for B's works. It is also used for lesser known, unpublished works by at least 1 other, Schumann. More common in the Romantic Era is the use of the term "Op. Posth.", obviously "Not published until after death. In reality, this is precisely the same situation as with B, they just used a different term. The original list of "WoO's" was compiled from a pile of manuscripts that were found in B's rooms after his death by his close friends. They were auctioned off to a number of publishers and collectors. (This according to Thayer).
