A welcome mat for curious readers!

Hi everyone!

During this lull in bulletin board activity, I thought it might be nice to try & encourage some new people to share their views on Beethoven with the rest of us. This is a great site, but it could do with some new blood.

Maybe some people think that they`re not `expert` enough to post, but they`re wrong
No one knows it all - I`m learning all the time - and even if people can`t really give reasons as to why they enjoy certain pieces, I`d still like to read about what they like. Or what they don`t!

So how about it, friends? You can still post in time for Christmas!

We haven't been going very long PDG! On the other hand the sites specific nature works against a large number of regular comentators. Beethoven specialists are few and far between, this I know for a fact. General classical music forums have dozens of punters having a go but in the end not saying very much.

Only since September in fact - so I am pleased that in the few months we have been going, we have built a core of enthusiasts that is steadily growing. As PDG says, everyone with an interest in Beethoven is welcome to join.

I'll go on the record to say that whatever "lull" may exist now, it is yards ahead of the conversation available at this forum's nearest competitor, and I have made it amply clear there why that's the case. I should also say that no, Rod, you DON'T know it all. You really like to think so, though. Circumspection of opinion would seem to strike you as a vice or something. I wonder, Rod, if you've ever stopped to think about how bothersome that gets.

You are correct in that I must confess that I do not know Beethoven's hat size, but I find your literal interpretation of everything I write a little bothersome too.

Well, gee, Rod, since we're on a faceless forum where all we have to work with is what we write (not what we say or how we say it), what else do you expect me, or us, to think when you write or give clues that you think yourself or your opinions better than your respondents'? By the way, Michael, you slightly misspelt my name. PDG is an extremely common name so you really have no excuse, although to make sure, I did check my birth certificate. It clearly states, "First christian name of child.....PDG." Of course, when you think about it, who would WANT to be saddled with a name like PGD? I mean it`s soooo silly. Thank God my parents are sensible people.
