I'm listening to a CD I bought for € 1 which includes 2 flute and 2 guitar concertos by Vivaldi and a flute and guitar concertino by Johann Georg Albrechtsberger. Lovely...

If you mean the video I was watching yesterday, I had taped it from a program they had on PBS a couple of years ago. The New Jersey Symphony had played the 9th for it's debut with it's conductor.
Also yesterday on public radio they played Leonore #2 described as this, "there were three different overtures for his only opera called "Fidelio". Fortunately, they all have a life of their own as concert pieces with the title "Leonore" (lay -oh-NOR-eh). Roger Norrington leads the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra in the third of these overtures". It was an excellent recording!

                        Joy,
Yes, that's what I meant. I have never seen the 9th performed, either in person or on TV, much as I would like to, but of course, I live at the end of the world, or at least you can see it from here ;-))

You don't get any PBS stations or public radio where you live? No concerts nearby?
Maybe a library would have a video of it.
I've seen the 9th performed a couple of times and if you ever have the chance don't miss it, it's truly an unbelievable experience!
