EDINBURGH FESTIVAL - string quartet cycle

Hi all,

All Beethoven's quartets are being performed over the weekend Aug 22-24 in Stockbridge Parish Church. Unusually, 4 different ensembles will divide the quartets between them. I've got tickets for 7 of these concerts!

In addition I will hear Andras Schiff performing the last 3 piano sonatas (Fri 22nd) and Alfred Brendel giving a talk on the composer on the Sunday afternoon.

This weekend is really a mini-Beethoven festival in all but name. This August be in Edinburgh - don't miss it!

Certainly, I'd be delighted to hear from anyone who intends to make the trip. Sharing the musical pleasure makes it all the sweeter!!

Sadly, I am unable to make the trip, but I am very pleased at this opportunity for you, it sounds like an outstanding way to spend mid-August, and I hope that you will kindly give us a play-by-play account upon your return.
